Days 23,24 &25 – Christmas bests

Best web tool

Most things I’ve discovered online this year ( mostly new blogs featuring hilarious family photos) haven’t exactly made life less complicated. Sometimes more fun, sure – but I have yet to harness the power of the internet to streamline and simplify.
But I did find one site that helps out with at least one part of my life. It’s for ladies, it’s very well-designed and for those of us who are occasionally absent-minded, the email alerts each month are tres useful.

Monthly Info . I give it my Lady Seal of Approval.

Best lesson learnt

The clip below was emailed to me a year or so ago by a dear friend and contains some of the best advice I’ve ever heard. It wasn’t until this year that I started putting it into practice though and really Working Through The Suck.

The lesson? Listen to Mr. Ira Glass and just do the thing.

Best gift given to yourself

Besides my Fisher Space Pen that writes underwater? (OK, my mum gave me that this morning – but it’s so awesome).

I’m going to say it was the decision I made to take compliments seriously. Not to brush them off, or second-guess the motivations of the person giving them.
If someone says they like my eyes, or scarf, or the way I tell jokes, I now thank them and assume they’re saying it because they like my eyes, scarf or perhaps the way I tell jokes. It’s nice, it’s easy and it makes life a little more enjoyable every time it happens.
